Pitchfork reviews The Spinto Band's "Cool Cocoon" →

Well, at least they didn’t hate it! <3 <3 <3

Beat the hell out of the new Ben Folds Five by several points…

The title might imply a sense of transformation, but Cool Cocoon reveals a band convincingly growing into what it had longed to be all along.”

(if you haven’t heard it from me by now, pitchfork is stupid, rating music with numbers is stupid, rating music with numbers with decimal points is so inane i can’t even handle it.)

JD’s sad, sad, telling of Frankie Lymon’s story.

Pitchfork: You’re Bad and You Should Feel Bad.

I do hate music review sites that seem to think offerring up a number is an any way helpful or constructive.

I don’t know much about the folk-ish band that inspired this discrepancy in review score, but it just goes to illustrate how meaningless this whole numbers game is.
