The single from The Dirty Projectors’ upcoming album Swing Lo Magellan
This marks a pretty new direction for The Dirty Projectors, which creatively is really all Dave Longstreth. My favorite and perhaps weirdest thing they’ve done is their 2005 album The Getty Address, which is a sort of glitchy rock opera combining lo-fi and hi-fi recordings done in various settings with tons of different musicians which loosely tells a semi-fictional story about Don Henley, drummer and lead singer for the Eagles.
Apparently, there’s an animated film based on it:
